treacle tarts

For these cold winter nights curl up near the fire and eat served warm with a good glug of cream and washed down with a mug of your favourite boozy coffee. This is my favourite version of the traditional recipe, and it is slightly more wholesome, containing apples and lemon juice, but it is still as satisfyingly sticky and sweet.

Prices:

Individual tarts: £1.40 each, or 12 for £14

One large 11″ tart which will easily give 12 portions: £18

custard tarts

A rich custard with a hint of vanilla essence cooked until it just stands upright with the perfect wobble, topped with freshly grated nutmeg. As individual tarts they are the perfect hand-held treat, the crisp pastry sheltering the fragile custard inside. I like the Portuguese custard tarts but these British ones are the classic.

Prices:

Individual, minimum order of 6: £1.40 each;or £14 for 12.

little lemon meringue pies

I used to love making these beauties at St. John to put on the sales counter as a little bonus when we had time. Their rich buttery lemon curd centre is contrasted deliciously by the torched meringue peaks on top. These have a minimum order of 6.

Prices: £10 for 6; £18 for 12

‘Tis the season to be jolly. Here at cherry pippin we’re keeping it jolly simple and offering the thing we love the most and do the best…mince pies! Made using traditional beef suet and filled to the brim with dried fruit, spices and brandy these are rich and boozy. The best way to eat them I think is with the really best, thickest Jersey cream to melt through the zingy fruitiness.

Prices are: £1.50 per pie, £8 for 6, £15 the dozen.

Place your order in good time so we can be sure to deliver for Christmas.
